We are proud to support as Mission Partners Rev. Peter Johnson and his family. Peter serves as pastor of St. Andrew's congregation in Cairo, Egypt and as Director of St. Andrew's Refugee Services (STARS). The congregation serves the international and ecumenical English-speaking comunity in downtown Cairo. The refugee program provides education programs, legal aid, and other vital community services for over 1,200 people each week from the Horn of Africa and Iraq.

ELCA World Hunger responds to hunger and poverty in the United States and around the world by addressing root causes. Through a comprehensive program of relief, development, education, and advocacy, people are connected to the resources they need to lift themselves out of poverty. Between 70-75 percent of ELCA World Hunger funds are spent internationally, and 20-25 percent are spent domestically.

University of Iowa Chaplain

The University of Iowa Chaplains recognize the importance of faith in facing a health crisis, and they offer spiritual support, care, and counsel to assist you with spiritual issues related to your illness and hospitalization. To receive spiritual care, ask your nurse to request a chaplain, or call Spiritual Care at 319-356-2523 or 6-2523 on a hospital telephone. Chaplains are available for ministry 24 hours every day.
