At St John we are becoming a disciple-driven church. What this means is that we have begun focusing our energy on making disciples, especially through these three FAITH ZONES

1: To do our best to worship weekly. It is essential to gather with the people of St John to give thanks and praise for what God has done.

2: To be involved in a community group; 6-10 friends meeting all across the Cedar Valley, gathering together to grow in their faith, encouraging and praying for one another, and living out “life together.”

3: To grow in our daily walk through

1.Praying daily

2.Reading the Bible and growing in your understanding and application

3.Worshiping God in your daily life though trust and praise and gratitude

4.Developing faith-filled relationships

5.Serving others on behalf of Jesus Christ

6.Sharing from your abundance

7.Encouraging others in their journey as a disciple of Jesus Christ

Nurturing the special bonds that unite women is an important part of life at St John. Through retreats, Bible study, and large group events women come to a deeper understanding of Christ’s love for them and how they can be Christ’s hands and feet in the world today. Building relationships and having fun along the way are the hallmarks of women’s activities at St John.

It is completely essential that the men of St John are well connected. Through Bible studies, road trips, retreats, service projects, and other times where men can grow in faith and be challenged, encouraged, and strengthened by other men, the life of the whole congregation is enriched.

Thirsty Thursday Bible Study 7:30am Thursdays in the St John Library

Tuesday Men's Bible Study 8am First Tuesday of the Month in the Chapel

Northeast Iowa Food Bank-1st Saturday of the Month (9-Noon)

Habitat for Humanity-3rd Saturday of the Month

Many other opportunities exist for men through St John.
