Worship

Worship

Worship is the central event of the week in the life of the people of St John.

At St John, you'll find a variety of worship styles. We hope that one of the services can be an opportunity for you to gather with friends and family to worship. We also offer other special worship throughout the year.

8:00 Traditional

Our 8:00 worship service is characterized by a more traditional atmosphere for worship which includes sung and spoken liturgy and settings using the Evangelical Lutheran Worship and With One Voice hymnals. The music covers a broad spectrum of styles and genres which includes classical and modern styles on the pipe organ and piano, and often features other solos and ensembles.

9:30 Contemporary

This service strives to honor the ancient traditions while speaking through music, imagery, and language of today. The feel is relaxed, and the music is led by the St John Worship Team; many musicians that make up a unique "acoustic rock" band each week.

11:00 New Tradition

The 11:00 worship service is held after the Sunday School hour to allow families to worship together. The music for the worship service comes from a wide variety of traditional and contemporary liturgical settings and features music on piano and guitar with strong vocal leadership.
